Summer Vacation Day 1

We went to San Antonio for our first family vacation. We got into San Antonio around 4:00 on Monday and unloaded our luggage and headed straight for the river walk. We took the kids to the Rainforest Cafe...which was an experience for them to say the least. Then we spent some time doing the riverwalk boats and walking around.

Daddy's girl for sure!

She just heard the "thunderstorm" and was a little freaked out!

Wyatt putting crayons on his head and pretending to be an elephant. Such a funny little guy!

When we first walked in there was a snake hanging from the ceiling that was moving up and down. Wyatt was so scared that he ate his whole dinner with his hand on his head and he left his hand there until we were out of the restaurant. He was so scared that snake was going to get his head. This picture is of us walking down the stairs to leave..and his hand is still in his head!

On the riverwalk boat...such a pretty girl!

Love my baby boy...

Summer Vacation Day 2

Day two in San Antonio we spent the whole day at Sea World. The kids were real troopers with temps in the lower 100's and the humidity at around 90%!!! It was also Wyatt's first day without a nap and he did wonderful. We all fell asleep super early that night and slept in late the next morning.
The kids loved every minute of the Sea World experience and so did Nick and I.

So bright and SO hot when the gates first opened!

Family Pic with a shark...wyatt was not a fan of this shark.

The Sea Lions

He's just waiting for Wyatt to throw it in.

we went inside to an air conditioned building for lunch...such a relief!

all greasy from the sun block

waiting for the Azul show to start

the kids loved watching the dolphins jump out of the water

The Shamu show!

Maddie couldn't believe how many whales were in the pool and she loved watching them splash everyone below us.

On our way to the water park...

The coral reef and shark exhibit

Wyatt's one request was that he get to see sharks...he was so excited!

The end of a very busy day!

Summer Vacation Day 3

On our third day we started off the day with a visit to an amusement park that was built in the 1920's. They have restored the old rides and this place was just perfect for Maddie and Wyatt. It was free admission and $1 rides...we spent about an hour there and the kids had a blast!

riding the boat together

of course Maddie found the pink plane

"bam bam"

he loved "flying" the airplanes

I was a little hesitant about the ferris wheel but the kids were so excited so of course I caved. They are in the blue cage close to the top.

After a quick bite at the McDonald's in downtown San Antonio, we took the kids to the Children's museum.

Wyatt driving the trolley at the entrance.

The kids put these balls up the shoots that had different passages that led to a big tub...it really was a lot cooler than I am making it sound. :-)

She has some growing to do!

So does he!

This was taken after they got to drive a "front end loader" and drop some big rocks.

Wyatt's favorite thing about this museum was the airplane. He loved being the pilot and did NOT want to take turns.

Wyatt's passenger Maddie

They had a really cool HEB shopping area for the kids. In this picture Maddie is checking out Wyatt who was buying steak and lobster! :-)

Maddie and Wyatt "milking" the cow. Maddie said, "The cow tee-tee'd on me.", when the water squirted out.

We finished the day off with a swim at the hotel.

Summer Vacation--Day 4

On the last day we were there, I had to take a picture of the shamu elevator that we took up every day to get to our room. Wyatt and Maddie loved looking at the shamu and it is because of this picture that Wyatt overcame his fear of elevators. I promised I would put a copy of the picture in his room to look at.
We also went to the Bass Pro Shop. Nick saw it while we were driving in and I promised he could go there before we left. The kids loved seeing all the animals and the aquarium.
We also stopped in Fredricksburg on our way home and picked up some peaches...yum yum!

Super Cool Elevator...Maddie asked if we could make her door at home look like this.
