We took some pictures tonight to send to Uncle Jame. He called for his final call this morning. I believe he is already on his way to Baghdad.
Miss Maddie is now 17months old. She is growing like a weed and is a little ham...if you can't tell.

Call from the Desert
Hey everyone. I had a nice surprise this morning. My brother called me from Kuwait. He tried twice and left me a voice mail. I was so upset that I missed him. Thank goodness he called a third time. It was so nice to hear his voice. He asked a lot of questions about Maddie. He was very impressed that she can say "Iraq" if you ask her where her uncle Jame is. He also wanted to know when I was going to find out if I was having a boy. I told him it would be sometime in June. (I think he thought I should know by now.) He will be leaving for Baghdad on Wednesday. I asked him if he was going to a very dangerous place. He said, "yeah it is pretty bad...but it will be OK...these are some good guys that I am with." Good thing he knows how to talk to his sister...any other answer could have sent me into a panic attack. He broke his hand again but is keeping it quiet...don't ask me how he is doing that. He says he can still use his trigger finger so I guess that is all he is worried about. It was so nice to talk to him. We even were able to laugh a little...if you know Jame then you know he can make you laugh at the drop of a hat. He said he hoped to call me again before he left. I sure hope so. I find myself missing him all the time.
Please continue to pray for him...for his safety and for his mind that it will not be jaded by what he sees.

First Sonogram

Hey everyone. I went for my first sonogram this morning. Dr. Tadvick said everything looks really good. I could see the heart beating...it was going SO fast. I am going back in 3 weeks for another sonogram so he can get a better estimate of when I am due. He thinks it will be end of October or beginning of November. I told him as long as we made it past Maddie's 2nd birthday I would be happy. He said it would be cutting it close. Anyway he said the baby was about the size of a grain of rice.

Back to Work...Ugh!!
Hey. Well Spring Break is officially over. Maddie and I got up very early this morning to get ready for the day. We both have enjoyed sleeping in everyday and getting our 3 hour nap in the afternoon. (Luckily she still gets her nap!) I sure did have a lot of things planned for the two of us last week...none of which we were able to do. My morning sickness...or should I say ALL day sickness kicked in on Monday. We did manage to go to the zoo on Saturday at 4:30 in the afternoon, only to find out that the zoo closed at 5:00. Thank goodness it was just the Abilene Zoo so we managed to go through the whole thing rather fast and got out 5 minutes before they closed.
Maddie is such a chatter box now. She is constantly talking about the world around her. She is also asking me what things are. She will point and say "What's that?" Last Sunday she even said "Mommy, I love you." Talk about tears. Those are the sweetest words I've ever heard from a 16 month old.
My brother called my mom this morning. He has been in Kuwait since March 10. He will be there for 9 more days before he goes to Baghdad. Please continue to pray for his safety.
Well that's all there is to say for now. I have a sonogram scheduled for Thursday morning so I will sure to update you on how that visit goes.
