We took the kids up to HSU tonight to take Wyatt's 9 month pictures and get a few cute ones of Maddie feeding the ducks. Here is a preview of the pictures I took.

9 Months Old

Our little Wyatt turned 9 months old on Thursday. We are taking his 9 month pictures tomorrow but I didn't want to wait any longer to make this post. We seriously can't believe he is already this old. Where has all of that time gone?
So here are a few things Wyatt has been up to:
*Crawling---he started today actually...he only takes about 3 crawls and falls but we are still counting it!
*Weighing about 24 lbs...in 18 month clothing...yeah I know!
*Talking all the time with mama's and dada's and nana's and wawa's.
*Growls..he has been doing this a while but now it is ALL the time and at strangers.

He just is the sweetest thing and such a good mannered baby. We are so blessed to have him and thank God every day he chose us to be his parents.

Trouble Sleeping

So yesterday I walked into Wyatt room to check on him...this was about 30 minutes after I laid him down for a nap. He is SO close to crawling and has been having trouble sleeping because he wants to "practice" crawling all the time. He can easily get on all fours but then scoots backwards. It's just a matter of time before he figures out how to move those chunky legs to go forward...then the fun begins!

Our Trip to Dallas--Part II

Saturday we took the kids to the Dallas Zoo. We got there right when it opened (9:00am)and stayed until we couldn't take the heat any longer (2:00pm). We rode the monorail and played at the Children's Zoo and say all sorts of fun things.
Here are some pictures from our Zoo adventure.

Our weekend in Dallas...Part I

So we decided to take advantage of our trip to shell's wedding by doing some fun things with the kids. Friday morning we headed off for the Omni theatre. I used to love going to the Omni when I was younger and I just kept my fingers crossed that Maddie would too. I don't have any pictures from the actually movie because NO PHOTOS were allowed. But I would have loved to have captured Maddie's face during the "flying over Dallas" part. She told us later that it gave her a "butterfly in my tummy". Wyatt enjoyed watching the movie for a little while and then dozed off. We went to see "Pulse"...it is by the people who created Stomp and it was SOOOO good. If you live in Dallas...I would recommend going to see it this Summer. We decided to take Maddie to the children's museum after the movie. She had so much fun and I took LOTS of pictures in there...here are just a few.

Milking her first COW!! (yeah...not really)

She's climbing the wall...literally :-)

Playing some music.

Playing in the water room.

After all that fun we went to see Nana at her work. Maddie and Wyatt were a hit at her office, then we went over to the Renaissance Foot Court and had lunch with Nana and Papaw. Needless to say...the kids were so worn out and we spent the rest of Friday sleeping and getting ready for Saturday. Stay tuned for those pics because we took them to the Dallas zoo.

My Best Friends Wedding

Thursday night my best friend, Michelle, was married to a wonderful man named Larry. We drove to Arlington to see the big event. Michelle made an absolutely beautiful bride and the whole wedding was wonderful. Shell and I have been through some pretty amazing times and also some times we thought we thought we couldn't get through. I am so thrilled she has found Larry and it is so nice to see my BFF truly happy.
Here are some pics from the wedding.

Fun Times at Gatti's

So last night, our Life Group met at Mr. Gatti's for some pizza and games. I of course forgot my camera but my very good friend, Kathy, took some pictures of Maddie and her son Noah playing. We had a blast and it was so nice to be out of the HEAT!!

Snips, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails....

So we have been debating getting the kids a puppy for their birthdays. We are even thinking of getting them a little weenie dog like the one in the video. Our friends the Porter's are graciously letting us take care of their dog, Maggie, while they are out of town this week. So far the kids have done well...and as you can see Maggie brings out some pretty cute laughter or should I say squeals.

sick little guy

We took Wyatt to the doctor this morning because all day yesterday he was puling at his ears and not nursing very well. He was a totally different baby on Tylenol so red flags went off that it was an ear infection. Although his eyes were all watery and he was a little congested too. Sure enough, he had an infection in one ear and fluid in the other. His allergies are the culprit for the congestion and watery eyes. He is now on an antibiotic and the doctor said we could give him claritin for the allergy symptoms.
He weighs a whopping 23 lbs. 11oz now. And although he has gained since the beginning of May, he Is starting to SLOW down...he only gained 2 1/2 pounds in 2 months.
Hopefully he will be back to his joyful self here in the next day or two. He will not get shots at 9 months so we don't have to go back to the doctor until he is a year...unless his ears are not better and then we have to discuss tubes in his ears. Yuck!
Just thought some of you Wyatt lovers would like an update!!

Tough Questions

So yesterday evening we took the kids to the pool. There was a slight chance of rain but we decided to go ahead and go swimming. We only stayed about an hour or so because with NO sun out the water was a bit chilly. As we were leaving, it started sprinkling, and if you know my daughter then you know she hates: the car wash, the shower, the sprinkler and really just any sort of water falling on her head. We rushed out to the car and Maddie was very frustrated that her hair was getting all wet. When we got in the car Maddie asked, "Why is it raining?" I said, "Because God decided we needed some rain today so he let some water fall on the grass and trees to make them green." Not content with my answer she said, "Mom, where is he and why does he like the rain?" I said, "God is in heaven and he loves to make things look beautiful so he sends rain to make the grass green." Then she asked, "Mom, can I go see him." I said, "Not right now, it's not time to see him yet." She said," Why can't I go see him?" I said, "Someday you will go live with him and everyone you know will be there and it will be wonderful but right now he wants you to live here with mommy and daddy." She was finally content with what I had to say, I looked at Nick who was smiling and I said, "She is only two can you imagine the questions that are coming our way!" We both laughed and later last night I thanked God for that teachable moment with Maddie. I love that she wants to know EVERYTHING but more than that I love that she already wants to know more about her heavenly Father and when she gets to see him. Amazing!

Our 4th of July Weekend

We had such a good weekend visiting family in the Dallas area. My brother flew in from GA and we had a cookout/swim party at my cousin Rhonda's house. We had so much fun catching up with everyone and the kids had a great time swimming.
