First T-ball game video

First T-ball game

Maddie had her first T-ball game this morning with the "Thunder Bolts". She did SO good and couldn't stop talking about it on the way home.

I think she looks like a tomboy here....but then still so girly!

Daddy bought her a hot pink bat last night.

My sweet girl!

She caught this ball and threw it to first base.

Getting serious with daddy.

Nick's cousin, Jake, was the ref...no we did not rig it...completely a surprise! This is Jake and Wyatt.

Giving hugs to her brother.

Such a Daddy's girl!

She has made a new friend on her team. They were a little more interested in visiting half way through the game.

Aunt Kristi and Maddie...we had lots of cheering fans for Maddie. Grandma and Grandad came too and cousin Carson. She pretty much has a game every Saturday until the middle of July...so come join us!

Our Memorial Day weekend

We had a wonderful weekend here in the McMillon house. Saturday we relaxed a lot due to the rainy weather keeping us indoors. We did decide to go to the pool and didn't swim long because the water was so cold. Sunday was church and lunch at Nick's parents house. Then Sunday night we spent with our Life Group. Today, we went to the zoo with Webb, Kristi and Carson. The kids had a blast with each other and really enjoyed being outdoors. Then we hit to pool again tonight...I can tell it is going to be a GREAT summer!

I think she should have been more scared. That snake was HUGE!

The 3 amigos!

Happy Birthday Great Grandad!

We celebrated Nick's grandad's birthday on Friday night. The kids love seeing him and Maddie thinks it's great any time we get together for some cake and ice cream.

First T-Ball Practice

We started Maddie in T-Ball this Spring/Summer. Today was her first practice...it was hilarious to say the least. She was so cute running around the bases and trying to catch the ball. She was a little shy at first but then came out of shell and really enjoyed herself. Her coach is SO patient...I mean REALLY patient and did a great job with them. Her first game is May 30th...Can't wait!

While Daddy is away....

Mommy and the kids will play!

Nick went on a Men's Retreat this weekend. He left Thursday afternoon and should be back late this afternoon. So the kids and I had a good time getting some quality mommy/kid time. Saturday morning Maddie and I went to a play date/lunch with the girls and kiddos from our Life Group. All of the men in our Life Group went together so we were all husbandless and decided to take advantage of this opportunity and get together. Wyatt's asthma has been bad since Thursday so I left him with Nick's mom so he wouldn't get to hyped up running around with the other kids. We of course had a great time despite the rainy weather outside.
This morning I managed to get both kids ready and out the door to go to church...and we were EARLY!! We just finished lunch and playing and now both kids are napping. Whew!

Maddie made a "city" with Noah's blocks.

The kiddos building a train set with Ros...who will be delivering a little boy on TUESDAY! (what a trooper!)

Maddie playing with her baby doll.

Wyatt on his horse....one of two he has...he just goes back and forth between them.

Somehow he thinks that tongue keeps him balanced.

Happy Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day. The kids gave me an early present last night, some canvas summer shoes that are too cute. Then this morning we all headed out to church and then to lunch at nick's parents house. The kids had made me a stepping stone yesterday and it was at my inlaws drying...it is so cute and I can't wait to put it in a flower bed.

Best of Friends

We had a play date this morning with Maddie's friends Noah and Bella, so Bella's momma could get some work done around the house before Baby Evan arrives. The kids had a great time and it is amazing how well they play together. They are also incredibly photogenic...see for yourself!

Sweet Maddie story

This morning on the way to Miss Mary's house, we were stopped at a red light and I noticed Maddie looking out the window. We were listening to Air 1...the best Christian music station I have ever heard, anyway there was a really pretty song on, wish I could remember the name of it, and Maddie was singing along. She said, Mom, look at the trees, they are dancing to the music." I said, "Do you think they can hear this song." She said, "Yea they can and they are dancing to it." The trees really did look pretty "dancing" in the wind and my daughter looked beautiful noticing God's amazing creation...something as simple as trees blowing in the wind.

Our trip to say goodbye...

On thursday, my parents and I headed out to El Paso to see Jame before he deployed. We had a great trip and shared a lot of laughs and had a fun time being with each other. This is Jame's second deployment...he came home from his first one last May. (Man...a year sure does fly by!) We were able to spend Thursday afternoon with him seeing the base and having dinner. Then Friday morning, my parents and Jame went to run some errands of things he was going to need while gone. (I was recovering from a stomach bug from the night before!) Then Friday afternoon Mom and I went to the base with Jame and then we all ate dinner in the hotel room and watched movies and Jame stayed the night with us in the hotel.
This morning was crazy! We got to the base early to help Jame finish packing so he could go to bag check and weapon handout...Mom and I stayed at the room and cleaned it as best we could. (Boys are messy!) Then we headed out to say goodbye to him. As emotional as we all felt, we held it together pretty well...until we got in the car to leave.
I'm afaid this deployment will be much longer and he will not be coming home for his two weeks leave. We already miss him and hope this time away from him goes quickly. Please pray for the safety of our troops and say a little prayer each day for my brother James...God has BIG plans for that boy!

I LOVED the mountains in El Paso...such a change of scenery from Flat ol Abilene!

Laughing!

Laughing so hard... it hurt!

So serious!

I told him to smile and he said, "I'm trying to get in the zone." But obviously he couldn't keep a straight face.

Saying goodbye to Mom.

Saying goodbye to Dad.

Walking away.

And this was the last we saw of him...he walked over and took his place with the other guys and never looked back. What a hard thing that must have been for him to do.
