10 Months Old

Wyatt turned 10 months old on Sunday. I have been meaning to post thing blog since then but with school starting back...I sorta haven't had time. We just can't believe he is SO close to being 1 now. It really seems like yesterday that he was still so little. He has the sweetest personality...so lovable, so laid back and always curious about the world around him. He LOVES playing with Maddie and thinks she is the funniest person he has ever seen.

Here are a few of Wyatt's new tricks:
*Crawling like a champ now
*Pulling up on everything
*Eating a few more solid foods (I'm still amazed at this because he still has NO teeth)
*Can sign "more"

Crawling toward Momma

Here is a video I have been promising my mom I would put on here of Wyatt crawling. He no longer crawls like an inchworm and can now go pretty fast!
We love you Wyatt and you bless our lives every day!

The Olympics

So Maddie has become a HUGE fan of the Olympics. She begs Nick and I to stay up and watch them at night before she goes to bed. This morning I kept noticing her running back and forth but really wasn't paying much attention...I just kept on doing my housework. When I finally sat down I noticed Maddie squatted down and then she would sprint to the wall. She had done this probably a hundred times before I caught on that she was trying to run like the men and women she had seen on the t.v.
I wished I would have kept the video going because after this sprint she said, "Mom, I'm all sweaty!" I'll just bet I won't have any trouble getting her to lay down for a nap today.

Row your boat...

Maddie and Wyatt always play together but usually Maddie gets frustrated with wyatt because of course he can't follow directions or follow her commands. I caught them playing yesterday and had to laugh at how upset Maddie gets with Wyatt at the end of this video. She just can't seem to understand why he won't listen to her. Also, they scream a lot at eachother...not being mean or anything...but they have screaming wars and Wyatt usually wins. You can hear him go back and forth with her in this video...oh yeah and he STILL growls at her...or anyone really. I love it!

Wyatt's new trick

I figured out Wyatt could get from laying down to standing up last night so we lowered his bed. Isn't he a cutie...he is getting so BIG!

So Big!

My brother has that same smile.

Maddie joined in on the fun.

We have a Nephew...and a cousin!!

My sweet sister in law gave birth to Carson Don Murphy, Monday evening at 5:12pm. Her water broke at 10:40 Sunday night and she was in labor for 18 1/2 hours. Wow!!! I was blessed to be a part of the whole thing and loved being able to be there for her and Webb. He weighed 7 lbs. 15oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. He is so sweet and so beautiful and already an amazing addition to the fam.
Here are some pics.

Summer Days

So as my lazy days of summer are drawing to an end...I thought I would take this opportunity to list my favorite things from this summer break. Here they are in no particular order.

1. Mommy and Maddie days...every Wednesday has been our day together, it is usually spent at the library (story time), going somewhere fun for lunch, playing with baby dolls, watching Dora or the Little Einsteins, taking naps together, a little shopping :), mostly just getting in some really good girl time with my favorite girl

2. Mommy and Wyatt days...every Thursday is my day with Wyatt, go to story time at 10:15 which really cuts into his nap time but he is NEVER cranky, I love these days because I can enjoy nursing him without worrying when Maddie is going to decide she needs my attention, playing baby games (I love that he is fascinated with everything and wants to explore his environment), I get to enjoy him while he is "little" and get to see some of his firsts.

3. Mommy days...I usually have a list of things to do on this day, it usually falls on Monday, sometimes I get everything done and other times it is nice that it doesn't matter if I don't get anything done; I usually end up missing my kids halfway through the mornings and can't wait to pick them up

4. The Pool...this year we got a membership to the swim club..it has been a lifesaver, we usually go every other afternoon, sometimes everyday. Webb and Kristi usually join us and we get a chance to visit with them and cool off from this Texas heat.

5. Mommy, Wyatt and Maddie days...I usually take Tuesdays and Fridays to keep both kids home with me. I love getting the chance to see them interact with eachother. Maddie is such a little momma to Wyatt and loves to help me out with him. We usually do not go anywhere, we have played outside and gone on little errands but for the most part we stay at home and enjoy the giggles and grins of being with eachother.

6. I really thought I would have more things to write about why I have loved this summer...maybe I will think of more later. Really more than anything I love that I get to be a full time mommy right now. When I work it is a constant pull between being the mommy and wife I want to be and the professional that loves her job. I like that I can focus solely on my family and for 2 1/2 months forget that my other life exists ( well except when I subbed a few days)

So to all of you hard working teachers out there that are enjoying your last few days of freedom as well...lay back, nap, go swimming, play with your babies and try to put August 25th out of your mind...at least for today!

Go Fish

Today I sat down with Maddie and tried to teach her how to play "go fish" It was quite an experience. She LOVED playing with the cards and was working really hard to figure out how to play it. She of course wanted to try and play it with Nick when he got home. Here is a video of about game 5. She is so cute and gets so side tracked but she almost has the hang of it. Enjoy!
