Father/Son Walk

My parents drove out to El Paso this past weekend to see my brother. My dad and brother were supposed to do a 26 mile march....plans were changed and this is what my dad wrote about their hike.

"These are pictures of Jame and me a few hours after we hiked up a mountain that Jame had hiked several weeks ago to camp out. We showed at the White Sands Missle Range to participate in the Bataan Death March but since we did not preregister we could not march. So, we drove and parked the car about 2 miles from where we took off up the mountain. I was not used to the high elevation and thought I would pass out. Jame took the lead and I did my best to keep up but had to stop often to catch my breath. The climb up was hard but the climb down was also difficult because of the rocks and cactus. When we got down and hiked back to the car I was exhausted but Jame felt pretty good. It was a good time for both of us and a experience I will not forget. Jame is scheduled to leave for his 2nd tour in Iraq so I'm glad we were able to do this as father and son. Maybe one day we can do the 26 mile march."

Way to go Dad!!

Kitchen Re-Do!

I finally have pictures of our completed kitchen...it took a little longer than anticipated but it sure was worth the wait. Thanks to Thomas, Nick and Webb for making the tile counter tops looks so nice and thanks to suzanne for helping us paint. I actually enjoy being in the kitchen a whole lot more now!

Before:

For those of you who hadn't seen the kitchen before...it wasn't hideous but it wasn't pretty either. It was the last room we painted before we moved in 5 years ago and we haven't touched it since.

After:

Now we have tile counter tops and back splash. Wood trim around the tile and in front of the counters. Fresh paint on the walls and new knobs for the cabinets.

Wyatt and Elmo

Wyatt loves this little elmo doll...and was being pretty cute with it this afternoon.

Uncle Jame bought the kids this cool wagon...just because!...Nick put it together tonight and we took the kids on a walk. They had so much fun and I have a feeling the days of the stroller are disappearing. Thanks Jame!

Fun Weekend

This past weekend, we drove to my parents house. On Saturday, my mom and dad took Maddie to see Disney on Ice...she LOVED it to say the least. She can't stop talking about the characters but epecially that "mean ol Captain Hook." When they got back from the show...we all piled in the car and drove to East Texas to see my Papaw. He hasn't seen Maddie since she was 9 months old and he had never met Wyatt. We had such a great trip and a wonderful time with family.

Maddie watching "Disney on Ice"...yes...she is in her Tinkerbell outfit.

Cowgirls Don't Cry...

I took this video on the way back to Abilene today. Maddie is helping Brooks and Dun sing "Cowgirls don't cry". She has started memorizing SO many songs...and half the time I think she isn't paying attention. I have lots of pictures to post from this weekend but they will just have to wait until tomorrow because I am WORN OUT!!

Little Stinker

Nap time is always a challenge with Wyatt when he is home with me during the week or on weekends...because he takes his naps at Miss Mary's house 5 days out of the week. So he usually fights me when I have him home. Last week was no different. Every time I went into his room...this is what I found. Cute....but it got OLD after the 4th or 5th time!

**I didn't know you couldn't see the video until it had already posted. So instead you get to listen to my little stinker laughing and I'm sure you can picture his sweet face.

Spring Breakin

This week is just flying by...and I knew it would with everything I had decided to accomplish. I took the kids to daycare on Monday and Tuesday so I could start painting the kitchen. I should have know they would be the only two pretty days this week. So yesterday and today the kids have been home with me. It is freezing outside and rainy and oh so dreary...so finding things for the kids to do has been hard. They are not used to being at home ALL day! We have played A LOT and cuddled, laughed and enjoyed our time together. I am taking them to daycare tomorrow morning for just a little bit so I can do some prep work before the kitchen counter tops get tiled on Saturday. I promise to post pictures when the kitchen it completely done. Here are some pics of the kids playing. Maddie enjoying coloring and cutting...she LOVES to do crafty things. Wyatt playing with his cars. Kisses!

Mommy/ Daughter Haircuts

This afternoon, Maddie and I went to get hair cuts. We both hadn't had one since October and were VERY LONG overdue. Maddie did great and I absolutely LOVE her hair shorter.

Yeah...they are pretty cute!

I took some cute pics of the kids tonight and wanted to share them. They play so well together and are really loving toward each other. I love that they are turning into play buddies and are interacting with each other SO much now.Tickle Time

My Little Man

Such a ham!

Combing his hair...he also has tried to put his shoes on and brush his teeth!

They LOVE to hug, but sometimes sister hugs WAY too TIGHT!

I took this video of the latest fun thing they do. Maddie lifts up her shirt so Wyatt can tickle her tummy and then he hugs her. He is starting to get a little rough doing this so we are having to cut back on tickle time. But they sure do get a laugh out of this!
