I had a wonderful Mother's Day celebrating being a mommy of 3. I feel truly blessed that God would choose me to parent my 3 amazing kids. Being a mom is simply the best!

Wyatt has been excited about playing T-ball since around February. So the first game was all we talked about for weeks before the big day. He did so good and had so much fun!

Our first few days at home were filled with settling in and lots of friends and family coming to visit and meet Doak. The kids have adjusted very well to life with their little brother...except for a fit here and there! :-) My mom was able to stay and help out with things around the house for the first week, which was an enormous help and we couldn't have managed without her.
Maddie holding Doak...she and Wyatt constantly fight over who can hold him first.

Mr. Doak decided to take his time in getting here...which I was perfectly ok with since my "to-do" list was quite long. I was scheduled to be induced Wednesday, April 27th but little Doak decided to send me into early labor on Tuesday morning. I dropped the kids off at school, went home and got Nick and headed to the hospital. My nurse was so for sure that I was in labor that she called Dr. Tadvick to break my water...however when he arrived he decided that I wasn't progressing enough and for me to wait it out at the hospital. I slept like a baby that night thanks to a little Ambien and the next morning everything picked up about 7:00am. They started me on Pitocin and I had my epidural by 7:30am. Dr. Tadvick broke my water at 8:00am and then everything started progressing quite nicely. About every 45 minutes or so I was dilating 2 cm. until finally at 11:30am they called for the dr and I could start pushing. It took 2 pushes and little Doak came right out...beautiful and healthy.

Maddie turned 5 1/2 a day before her little brother arrived. Nick and I find it very hard to believe she is already closing in on her 6th birthday. Maddie is quite the speller these days and has started reading some of the "Dick and Jane" books. She loves ballet, her friends at school and playing with Wyatt. She has the most sweet and sensitive spirit and is a true joy to everyone who knows her. I went 2 weeks ago and registered her for Kindergarten. We are so excited about this next chapter in her life and can't wait to see her grow and mature these next 6 months.

We had such a good Easter with our family. After a wonderful church service we went to Nick's sister's house and had lunch and the cousins had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard.
